on the red corner… the right brain!

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Got it from Badong who got it from here.

THE Right Brain vs Left Brain test … do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
“big picture” oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can “get it” (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

————–

The thing is, I saw the girl rotate BOTH clockwise and counterclockwise before I knew what it’s supposed to mean. Now, I can’t seem to control it anymore – but I can make her slow down or go faster!

Something is DEFINITELY wrong with my brain.

edit: i finally figured it out! boowaahaha!

if you see the girl rotating clockwise, her right foot is stepping on the ground, and vice versa.

Still, something is wrong with my brain.

Sabi nya “i commend these, ma’am”. weee.

Gulo ko no?

Woohooo! Darleng!)

yeah baby!

Woo! I already saw my grades online .

I am quite proud of some of my grades. Others, well, they just sucked. Boo. But anywhoo, I am still proud of a particular one, since I grew to love the subject – and I particularly am interested on this subject, and I still kinda got a pretty decent grade on it. (disclaimer: it is not high – just decent :) )

Ok, ok, it’s my Specialized Writing – Cultural and Historical Writing. It’s pretty easy to compute for my grade since we only submitted two papers. I know the grade of my first paper, so my final grade would pretty much show the second paper grade (it’s COMPLICATED MATH! well, at least for me. teehee).

I’m quite surprised since I expected to get a much MUCH lower grade since I didn’t submit my first draft, so basically, I submitted my first draft as my final draft.

I wrote about the Metropolitan Theater in Manila (lemme make a blog entry about that poor poor building some other time). It’s pretty much a history paper, and I kinda sucked in history, but surprisingly and honestly, I enjoyed making the paper.

Basing it on my classmates’ testimonies kasi, our prof gave us justifiable grades. He won’t give us bad grades just for the heck of it, and he won’t give us high grades just because he thinks that we’re adorable. Unlike kasi yung ibang subjects, parang di mo alam kung saan hinuhugot yung grades (i am not JUST talking about this sem’s subjects).

And at least I can really see what’s my writings’ worth.

Anyway, I am using Jay (mi ever reliable laptop) right now to connect to the net. My sister kinda messed up with our Desktop, and I really need to see my grades, so I broke my own rule and connect to the net with Jay anyway even though I don’t want to.

Breaking my own rule = story of my life.

I’m reformatting our desktop now. Hope everything’ll work out ok :)

edited: everything worked out pretty well. But I have not been running the thing for a whole one hour when i already got this virus from Yahoo Messanger. Aw! Any idea how to eliminate this annoying virus?

surprise surprise! :)

She (J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Poter series) was asked by one young fan whether Dumbledore finds “true love.”

“Dumbledore is gay,” the author responded to gasps and applause. read more

That practically made my day. hehe

Anyways, Bonn is selling pretty cool Thomasian shirts. Please do help him out by checking out his stuff, and for purchasing it, too.

If after all the freaky jazz that happened today in Glorietta, it was proven that ’twas in fact a bomb attack, then we, ladies and gentlemen, are really living in hell.

(if you are a media-less creature, there was an explosion at Glorietta 2 today at around 1:30 pm. As of blog-time, 10 died and more that a hundred were injured. Initial reports said that it was a gas leak, but the perimeter of the damage stated that it was not just an LPG explosion.),

Grabe, imagine having a normal day and a normal lunch break inside a mall, and the next thing you knew, you’re dead.

(really, the thought of going to Glorietta today crossed my mind. I was supposed to text my mall buddy for one Glorietta session, but I woke up pretty late this morning and my mall buddy texted me first that we go to SM Manila instead.

This is a really messed up world right here. People without hearts are roaming freely among us.

If it is terror that these guys were trying to establish… err… why?

Coward bastards. Learn to play fair.

PBB season nanaman! :)

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Last Sunday was the start of the much-watched Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity edition season 2.

I think Will Devaughn – who, as much as i can remember, eh inaasam-sa-tuwina ni Novia – is really hot. I just refer to him as that hot guy from the Century Tuna tv ad. I never erally noticed him until PBB (you know, I really don’t have a ‘thing’ for kalbo dudes. haha! shadap endays! :P )

(but I really think Bruce Quebral’s cute too, but everything turned around when he started having that thingy with er… what’s her name again? that Margarita girl? ow, Wendy)

I think Riza Santos’ cute too. She’s so adorable! I would want Will and Riza to fall in love with each other or something. I don’t know. Whatever.

My early bets would be Ruben and Marylaine.

Ruben is a total comedian. Tsaka di sya mukhang social climber. And PBB, more often than not, = social climbing. So there.

I found out from Chenny that Marylaine won the 2004 Palanca. She also won the same category and division where I did, but she bagged the 1st prize (wag kang ambisyosa, Aika). And I’ve heard that she writes for Manila Times and some other publications.

That girl is practically living my life! Waaa! I really hope that her ka-two-in-one Jen will just keep quiet or something. I want Marylaine to win and I hope that Jen will not drag her down.

HAHAHAH!

If I have it my way,  I want these celebs to be inside kuya’s house:

1.) Jake
2.) Atom Araullo
3.) Manix Abrera – huhu Inkblots *singhot*
4.) Japoy Lizardo – para may athlete. Between him ang Manny Paquiao, si Japoy na.
5.) Ramon Bautista
6.) Gary Granada
7.) Bianca King
8.) Katrina Halili
9.) Dennis Trillo mylabs
10.) Aika Pascual

There. I said naman before that if I have it my way.

Resident Evil 3: Extinction

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

in <3 wid ali :)First, there was Michelle Rodriguez.

Then, Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine.

Now, Ali Larter as Claire Redfield.

Oh men, one needs to watch the Resident Evil series because of the babes. Of course I need not mention Milla Jovovich.

Ok, I am writing about the 3rd installation of RE, and not about the babes-with-guns.

In RE 3, things got a little complicated. There was some kindov freaky zombies (as if zombies aren’t freaky enough – that makes them double freaky!). Some zombies CAN think! and zombies who can run!

You’ll have to watch this movie if you’re for all that ass-kickin-girl-ish kind of flick. Of course I loved the movie because RE was a GREAT part of my childhood memory. And Alice’s moves were really asteeeeeeg. And she got this psychic X-men-ish kind of new power too. Cool.

Don’t expect too much on the story though.

Milla, as always, owned the flick. When she takes out her gun (or guns, or knife or knives), you really can’t do anything but shut up and watch her every move.

Anyways, Ali Larter was Claire – the heroin in the RE 2 of the game version. Oh, I am sooo in love with Ali. I haven’t noticed her before, not until her mind blowing character in Heroes (she played Nikki/Jessica – and I have been crushing on her ever since) and I was quite excited to find out that she’s playing Claire.

But ow, I was disappointed.

Not because she’s not fit for the character – because she is – but because her character was not given enough “attention”. Unlike Jill’s exposure in the 2nd movie, Claire’s character was not that, errr, stressed. There were not enough fighting scenes for Ali. aw, sad :(

One thing’s for sure: after you watch this movie, you’ll be hoping that movie producers would release the 4th RE as soon as possible. Trust me with that.

Ang aming work space. At ang aming muse na si Vicky the Gay Fishie (dapat Vicky the flying dolphin, eh di naman daw sya dolphin) at ang kanyang CTRL + S: Save the Work Campaign  :)
